For all high-security fences, anti-burrow cills, or beams, are essential in one form or another. Traditionally, installing anti-burrow beams for fencing involved using wet-cast concrete, a process that is labour-intensive, physically demanding, weather-dependent, and costly.
Recognising these challenges, Electrafence has spent years innovating and developing a more efficient and cost-effective beam installation process: interlocking pre-cast concrete cill beam blocks, known as ‘Cill-Lock’.
We are proud to introduce our innovative Cill-Lock precast interlocking anti-burrow cill blocks. Manufactured in-house at Electrafence’s new facility, these blocks have already been successfully installed on six key National Grid Fence & Gate projects. Following the success of these initial installations, Cill-Lock has received approvals for all future key installations with National Grid.
Key Benefits of Electrafence’s Cill-Lock cill:
- Environmentally Friendly: Our precast installation process reduces timber shuttering waste, contributing to a more sustainable and eco-friendly approach.
- Reduced Manual Handling: The design of the interlocking blocks minimises the need for extensive manual labour.
- Quicker Installation: Precasting the blocks allows for a faster installation process on site compared to traditional wet pour methods.
- Weather Resilience: The installation can be carried out in adverse weather conditions, including rain and low temperatures, ensuring project continuity and adherence to our client’s tight schedules.
Innovation at Electrafence
Electrafence’s precast cill blocks are a testament to our commitment to innovation, quality, and continual improvement. By manufacturing these blocks off-site, we ensure consistent quality control and the ability to tailor block production to meet the specific needs of each project.
